Your best kept secret
A guide to spray tanning for your wedding day
Your wedding day will be the best day of your life (according to tradition), but in order for it to be an amazing day, a lot of planning is required by you and your team of bridesmaids! Once you've picked the dress, found something old and something blue, your mind may wander to whether you want a beautiful glow for your day. Some brides panic about spray tanning for their wedding day; will it stain my dress? What if my tan goes patchy? To help ease your nerves, here is your guide to spray tanning on your wedding day.
How long before my big day should I tan?
Never the day before. Try two full days before your wedding day. This will give your tan enough time to develop and you'll have had time to wash off the first layer, leaving you with a glowing tan. It also gives you the chance to moisturise to lock in the colour and if for some reason you don't like it, you have the opportunity to fix it.
What colour of tan will go with my dress?
The colour of tan that will suit your skin tone and match your dress will vary from the individual. When you have picked the dress for your special day, take that colour, whether it be white, cream, ivory etc, and try a variety of tanning shades to match those colours. You can practice with different shades until you find a colour that is the perfect match for your skin and dress. You can do this weeks or even months before the big day so you know you're prepared.
Will I get the tan on my dress?
This is highly unlikely if you've tanned two days in advance. The tanning solution will already have sunk into your skin, and once you shower and rinse off any extra formula, you'll be left with the final glow!
