Get The Look

Our Mineral Makeup is so versatile- there is a foundation colour to match every skin tone and with so many different shades of eyeshadow there is a colour to go with every mood! As they are natural products they also work well with our Self Tanning ranges so we have chosen 5 very different modelsfor our photoshoot to show just that and to give you some inspiration for your own looks. Don’t worry if your skin tone isn’t the same as the model’s, the eyeshadow colour, illumizers and self-tan shades are universally flattering so that everyone can “get the look”!

Caribbean Indulgence Look:

Our model Francesca has naturally olive skin so we started out with a self-tan application of Caribbean Indulgence in Dark the night before. We then used the Dark Tan Mineral Hygienics Starter Kit, applying a light dusting of the foundation and a sweep of the Translucent Powder over the top to give a flawless finish. Next, we applied Bambino Mineral Blush to the apples of the cheeks and lightly over the contours of the cheek bones. For her eyes, we swept Java Gold all over the lid up to just underneath the eyebrows, for drama, we then covered the eyelid up to the socket line with Crush and finished off with a dab of Tiger Spice on the inner corner of each eye to brighten. For definition, we used Mineral Mascara in Black and touched up her eyebrows with light, feathery strokes of powder brow colour in Suede. Finally, we topped it all off with a quick slick of Mineral Lipstick in Daylight.

Revive Anti Aging Look:

Lucy is naturally olive but is paler than Francesca and doesn’t tan as dark asher either. Also, she is prone to occasional dry skin which increases signs of aging so we decided to use Revive Anti-Aging Self Tan in Medium the night before. For foundation, we used the Starter Kit in Medium only applying a light layer of the Medium Light shade of foundation and Translucent Powder. We also used the Warm Kiss Bronzer from the Starter Kit to contour her cheekbones and applied a little Joy Mineral Blush to the apples of her cheeks. We decided to go for a more dramatic, smoky look for Lucy so we started by sweeping Mineral Eyeshadow in Latte all over the eye to underneath the eyebrows. Next we applied Cocoa Bean over the eyelid up to just beyond the socket line and smudged underneath the eyes for a soft effect. We then used Boulder Eyeshadow underneath the eyes but closer to the lash line this time to define the shape of the eyes more. To create a trulysmoky, sultry look we then used Black Diamonds Eyeshadow and worked this in to the crease of the eye socket, slightly feathering it out into a wing shape on the outer corners of the eye. Finally, we used Raven Eyeliner to line the upper eyelids and to fill in her lower inner eye line to add real drama and lashings of Black Mineral Mascara and Suede Eyebrow Retractable Pencil. Smoky eyes need no other distraction so we kept the lips neutral with a coat of Mineral Lipstick in Champagne.

Electric Tan Look:

Roksana is pale skinned but goes a nice honeyed colour in the sun. She had no time to self-tan the night before so we used Electric Tan Self Tan on her the morning of the shoot! As she doesn’t go very dark in the sun and wanted to look lightly, naturally bronzed we washed off the tan after two hours, leaving her a gorgeously golden colour that deepened over the next few hours, leaving her with more of a bronze, sheer effect. She loved it so much that she took it away with her and vowed to leave it on for the full six hours next time to try a darker tan! As Roksana was a light-tanned colour and she has naturally flawless skin, we skipped the all over foundation and just used a tiny bit of Fairly Tan Foundation with a Blemish Brush as a concealer under her eyes and around the nose where redness usually occurs. We wanted to try out more of a sophisticated, everyday work-look here so we took away excess shine on the skin with Sheer Perfection Mineral Finish Powder in Matte which keeps you shine free all day and a quick sweep of Promenade Pink blush for just a hint of shimmer and warmth. To stay with out professional-looked theme we usedeyeshadows from the Matte collection, starting with Vanilla Mineral Eyeshadow over the whole eyelid up to the eyebrows, a light coat of Smoke Eyeshadow over the eyelid to just above the eye socket crease and lined her eyes top and bottom with Brownie Eyeliner, using the smudging sponge on the other end to soften the line under her eyes. To compliment this soft look we decided to use Brown Mineral Mascara on both top and bottom lashes and defined her eyebrows with powder Cocoa Brow colour. As we had gone neutral with her eye makeup we defined her lips more by using Adorable Lips Lip Liner and Magma Rose Lipstick.

Mineral Hygienics Poster Girl Look:

Our “Poster Girl” for our Mineral Makeup is Samar. We decided to use Samar as not only was she absolutely gorgeous and great in front of the camera, but she also represents the variety of skin tones that the makeup caters for, which is each and every one! Although Samar has dark skin, we used an application of Revive Anti- Aging Self Tan in Dark the night before. We did this as it is on black skin it helps to even out skin tone and also to plump and firm the surface of the skin. The effects were wonderfully radiant and so we only needed to use a little of the Dark Foundation that we had brought for her. We used Glow Mineral Illuminizer along the top of her cheekbones and browbones to highlight her gorgeous skin and also added a dash of Rosy Raisin Mineral Blush for a dewy, fresh effect. We wanted to stay with a golden, soft theme so we used Mineral Eyeshadow in Pink Champagne all over the eyelid up to the brow bone and Cappucino Eyeshadow over the lid up to the socket crease. Then, we used Chocolate Eyeshadow in the socket crease and smudged it under her lower lash line. We finished off the eyes with Brownie Eyeliner on her top lash line and just underneath her lower lash line and applied two coats of Black Mineral Mascara. As Samar has beautiful, big eyes we put lots of definition on her eyebrows with Brow Colour in Jet Black to add a bit of drama! We let the eyes do the talking and just dabbed on a little Celestial Lipstick.

Mineral Hygienics Colour Pop Look:

We really wanted to show the fun side of Mineral Makeup- natural makeup doesn’t have to mean “boring” colours- there are lots of vibrant colours to choose from to keep you on-trend throughout the year!
Nimisha is Indian in origin and so can go quite pale in winter but can also go very dark in the sun. She prefers more of a sheer effect so we used Caribbean Indulgence Self Tan in Light on her the night before. She looked radiant and lovely with just a hint of colour so we gave her light coverage with Medium Light Foundation and flattering contouring around the face and cheekbones with Warm Kiss Mineral Enhancer and Joy Blusher on the apples of her cheeks. We highlighted her eyes by applying Mineral Eyeshadow in Peach Cream just underneath the eyebrows and on the inner corners of her eyes. For full-on colour impact, we covered her eyelids from lash line to above the socket crease and under the lower lash line with Emerald Eyeshadow and also smudged a little Sapphire Mineral Eyeshadow underneath her lower lash line. We finished off the eyes with lots of coats of Black Mineral Mascara and Jet Black Brow Colour on the eyebrows. Finally, we complimented this bright, bold look with a combination of Daylight Lipstick and Citrine Lipstick dotted in the centre of the lower lip to create added shine.
